Today was Super Tuesday in Virginia, so after we voted, we decided we should continue on to the new house and see if we could see any new progress. We know...we've been driving by a lot lately...we just can't help it! We seem to find an excuse to drive by every time we are out and about.
Today we were happy to see that even more work had been accomplished. We have officially been backfilled. The huge hole that was our garage is now filled to ground level, as is the perimeter around the foundation. They also worked on completing the drainage system. It was fun to actually be able to walk around our property without feeling like we could fall into the hole around the foundation!
And finally, the most SUPER part of this Tuesday...our wood has been delivered! This was a milestone we have been anticipating and anxiously awaiting. We may or may not have made spectacles of ourselves when we realized it had our lot number painted on it. We can't wait for our update from our PMs to see when they plan to put the wood to good use!

We finally moved into our new house this year after renting for all those years. Realty has finally hit me in the face all those years of putting this decision off. I must have thrown away tens of thousands of dollars at my landlords mortgage paying off his bills and building his financial future without having a penny to show for it.

Although the process of moving can often be a stressful one, it is also very exciting. Celelebrating the new year with the purchase of a new home is a great idea. It is so brave to take on a project of this size, but it looks like it will pay off for you and your family because it will be all yours.
